AVP Holidays: A Peaceful and Beautiful Trip to Banaras

Banaras, also known as Varanasi or Kashi, is one of the oldest cities in the world. It is a holy city in India where people come to pray, find peace, and connect with their spiritual side. Many believe Lord Shiva created this city, and the holy river Ganga flows through it. Recently, I went on a tour of Banaras with AVP Holidays, and it was one of the most special trips of my life.

Let me tell you all about it!

Why Visit Banaras?

Banaras is not just another city. It is a place full of history, culture, and spirituality. People from all over the world come here to dip in the Ganga, visit ancient temples, and feel the peaceful energy of the city. It’s a place where you can see life and death happening side by side, especially on the famous ghats (steps leading to the river).

Whether you are religious, love Indian culture, or just want to experience something different, Banaras is a must-visit.

Choosing AVP Holidays

I booked my Banaras trip with AVP Holidays, and I’m so glad I did. They took care of everything — from hotel booking and transportation to guided tours and local experiences. I didn’t have to worry about a thing.

Their tour package was well-planned. It had a good mix of temples, sightseeing, food, and free time to relax. The guides were friendly and knew a lot about Banaras. They told us many stories and facts about the places we visited, which made the trip even more interesting.

Day 1: Arrival and Evening Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat

We arrived at the airport in Varanasi, where an AVP Holidays team member greeted us. We were taken to a nice hotel near Assi Ghat, one of the calmest and most beautiful ghats in Banaras.

In the evening, we went to Dashashwamedh Ghat to see the famous Ganga Aarti. It was an amazing experience. Priests were chanting prayers, lamps were lit, and the river looked magical. AVP had arranged special seats for us, so we had a perfect view. Watching the aarti made me feel peaceful and thankful.

Day 2: Boat Ride, Temples, and Culture

The next day started very early. At 5 AM, we went for a sunrise boat ride on the Ganga. The cool breeze, calm water, and rising sun made it a beautiful morning. We passed many ghats like Manikarnika Ghat (where cremations happen), Harishchandra Ghat, and Panchganga Ghat. Our guide explained the meaning and stories of each one.

After the boat ride, we visited the famous Kashi Vishwanath Temple, one of the most important Shiva temples. Because of AVP’s arrangements, we didn’t have to stand in long lines.

Next, we went to some more temples like:

  • Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple

  • Durga Temple

  • Bharat Mata Temple (a temple with a map of India instead of a god idol)

In the evening, AVP took us to a cultural program in an old haveli (traditional mansion). We saw classical music and dance performances and enjoyed local snacks. It was a lovely way to end the day.

Day 3: A Visit to Sarnath and Silk Weaving

On Day 3, we visited Sarnath, a peaceful place just outside Banaras. This is where Gautam Buddha gave his first speech after getting enlightenment. We saw ancient ruins, stupas, and the Sarnath Museum, which has the Lion Capital of Ashoka (India’s national symbol).

Later, we visited a local Banarasi silk weaving center. We watched how weavers use traditional handlooms to make beautiful sarees. It takes weeks or even months to make one saree! I bought a gorgeous red silk saree as a souvenir.

Why AVP Holidays is a Great Choice

Here’s why I loved traveling with AVP Holidays:

  • Easy Planning: They took care of everything — hotels, transport, guides, and tickets.

  • Great Guides: Our guides were helpful, funny, and knew a lot about Banaras.

  • Local Experiences: We didn’t just see famous places — we also met local people, tried street food, and saw traditional crafts.

  • Comfortable Stay: Our hotel was clean, cozy, and close to the ghats.

I didn’t feel like a tourist. I felt like a part of the city, thanks to how AVP planned everything.

A City That Stays With You

On the last night, I sat quietly by the Ganga, watching the lamps float on the water. Banaras is not just a place — it’s a feeling. It touches your heart in a way no other place does. The mix of prayer, peace, colors, and life is something you’ll never forget.

AVP Holidays helped me connect with that magic in the best way possible.

Whether you want to explore temples, enjoy local food, or just relax by the river, they’ll help you do it all with ease.
